Launch Your Own Perfume Brand

The distance between a brand idea and a finished perfume is eight decisions. This is how they are made, and where a European manufacturer takes over.

How do you start your own perfume brand?

Define your brand concept, select or develop your fragrance, choose the concentration and product format, select bottle and packaging, prepare the product documentation, manufacture the product, fill and package it, and launch. A private label or contract manufacturer can carry out the fragrance, production and packaging stages.

  1. 01

    Define your brand concept

Decide who the product is for, where it sits in price and character, and what makes it different from what your audience already buys. Every later decision — fragrance, concentration, bottle — refers back to this.

  2. 02

    Select or develop your fragrance

Start from an existing direction in our portfolio of more than 6,000 fragrance formulas, request modifications to one, or commission a new composition from an olfactory brief.

    Select bottle and packaging

Bottle, pump, cap, label and carton define perceived value and must also carry the required product information.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own fragrance to start a perfume brand?

No. Many brands launch using an existing fragrance direction from our portfolio, and commission a proprietary composition later once the range is established.

What information should I prepare before contacting a manufacturer?

Your brand positioning and target market, fragrance references or a description of the desired character, the product format and concentration, packaging expectations, the markets you intend to sell in, and indicative quantities.

Who is legally responsible for the finished product?

For products placed on the European market, responsibility sits with the responsible person defined by the applicable regulation. AROMA NOVA supports the documentation process but does not provide legal advice.

Can one partner handle fragrance, manufacturing and packaging?

Yes. AROMA NOVA covers fragrance development, formulation, manufacturing, filling, labeling and packaging within one project.
